Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, commonly referred to as CDSSH, SHA, or Sacred Heart, is a private, Roman Catholic school for girls. Sacred Heart is located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and consists of a Lower, Middle, and Upper School with approximately 400 in enrollment. The school is a member of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

History
Country Day School of the Sacred Heart was established in 1865 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart. It has been lay owned and operated since 1969. It joined the Network of Sacred Heart Schools in 1999, reuniting it with its roots.[2]
Academic Curriculum
Sacred Heart is a college-preparatory school and gives students the skills they need to be successful throughout life. There are 9 departments, which include English, History, Health, Languages, Mathematics, Physical Education, Religion, Science, Technology, and Art. Honors and AP courses are offered in most departments.
English includes American literature, British Literature, World Literature, and Advanced Writing. (honors and AP courses are offered.)
History includes American History, Comparative governments, European History, and World History. (honors and AP courses included).
Languages include French, Spanish, and Latin. (honors courses included.)
Mathematics includes Algebra, Geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and statistics. (honors courses offered).
Religion includes World religions, Social justice, New Testament, Old Testament, Morality, Church History, and Christian Vocation.
Sciences include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences. (honors and AP courses included.)
Exchange Program
Schools of the Sacred Heart commit themselves to the vision created 200 years ago by Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart is one of 150 schools around the world, and allows students to travel through the exchange program.
Athletics
Sacred Heart's high school participates in 10 varsity sports, including: Cross Country Running, Field Hockey, Golf, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Crew, Lacrosse, Softball, and Track
Sacred Heart's middle school participates in Field Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse.

Scholarships
Entering ninth grade students are eligible for merit scholarships. Academic scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic ability. (there is a scholarship exam in the fall and grades are taken into account) Also, scholarships may also be awarded to students with talent in Art or Music.
