Dana Fabe
Dana Anderson Fabe (born March 29, 1951) has been a member of the Alaska Supreme Court since March 1996. She has served three terms as the court's Chief Justice (2000–2003, 2006–2009, 2012–2015). She was the first woman appointed to the Alaska Supreme Court and the Alaska Supreme Court's first female Chief Justice.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, she grew up in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood and attended The Seven Hills School. She attended Cornell University (BA 1973) and Northeastern University School of Law (JD 1976), before moving to Alaska in the 1970s.[1]
Following the retirement of U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter, U.S. Senator Mark Begich recommended her as a possible successor in a letter to President Barack Obama.[2]
