Delight is a town in Pike County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 279 at the 2010 census.

History

Delight was named by the early physician and landowner William Kirkham, because he thought of it as a delightful place to live. Delight was incorporated in 1904.

There were 168 housing units at an average density of 368.6/sq mi (141.0/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.50% White, 0.96% Black or African American, 3.22% Native American and 0.32% Asian. 0.32% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 135 households out of which 28.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.3% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.3% were non-families. 34.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 2.97.

In the city the population was spread out with 26.0% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 82.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79.7 males.
