Edward Stefanski was hired as Vice-President of Player Personnel for the Memphis Grizzlies in 2014. He previously served as the Executive Vice-President of Basketball Operations for the Toronto Raptors from 2011-13. Before this position he was the General Manager for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA, serving from 2007 to 2011, when he was dismissed by the new 76ers ownership led by Josh Harris on October 18.[1] He previously served as the General Manager for the New Jersey Nets.[2]
Stefanski grew up in the Delaware Valley attending St. Bernadette's Grade school in Drexel Hill as the star player on both the football and basketball teams. Monsignor Bonner High School in Upper Darby where he was a "Wall-of Fame" basketball stand out at Bonner and then went on to play college basketball, as 'the shot', at the University of Pennsylvania.[3] He replaced former Sixer GM Billy King. Ed was a 10th round selection of the 76ers in the 1976 NBA Draft.
He has been a resident of Avalon, New Jersey.[4]
