ExAlta Energy Inc., headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, was an oil and natural gas company engaged in the exploration for and the acquisition, development and production of oil and natural gas in West Central and Northwestern Alberta and Northeastern British Columbia. The company was acquired by Galleon Energy Inc. on January 18, 2008.

Profile

ExAlta's operations were focused in the Alexis-Cherhill area of West Central Alberta and the Peace River Arch area north of Grande Prairie in Northwest Alberta and Northeast British Columbia. The Corporation had producing operations as well as active exploration and development programs and prospect inventories in both of these areas.

ExAlta's focused on growing production and reserves in geographically focused areas. The Corporation operated over 80% of its production and maintained operations close to established infrastructure.
