F. Gary Simpson[1] is an American politician and a Republican member of the Delaware Senate since January 12, 1999, representing District 18.[2]

Education

Simpson earned his BS and MS at the University of Delaware.

Elections

  • 2012 Simpson won the September 11, 2012, Republican primary with 1,515 votes (68.0%)[3] and was unopposed for the November 6, 2012, general election, winning with 13,198 votes.[4]
  • 1998, when Democratic Senator Robert Voshell retired and left the District 18 seat open, Simpson was unopposed for the September 12, 1998, Republican primary and won the November 3, 1998, general election with 6,458 votes (53.1%) against Democratic nominee Gary Downes.[5]
  • 2002 Simpson was unopposed for the September 10, 2002, Republican primary and won the November 5, 2002, general election with 8,875 votes 57.4%) against Democratic nominee John Burton.[6]
  • 2004 Simpson was unopposed for the September 11, 2004, Republican primary and won the November 2, 2004, general election with 14,392 votes (63.3%) against Democratic nominee F. Thomas Savage.[7]
  • 2008 Simpson and Downes were both unopposed for their September 9, 2008, primaries, setting up a rematch of their 1998 contest; Simpson won the November 4, 2008, general election with 14,596 votes (55.1%) against Downes.[8]
