Grand Masters of the Order of St Michael and St George

There have been nine Grand Masters since the order was founded in 1818. These are:
- 1818–1825: Sir Thomas Maitland
- 1825–1850: The 1st Duke of Cambridge
- 1850–1904: The 2nd Duke of Cambridge
- 1904–1910: The Prince George, Prince of Wales (King George V)
- 1910–1917: (vacant)
- 1917–1936: The Prince of Wales (King Edward VIII, The Duke of Windsor)
- 1936–1957: The Rt Hon. The Earl of Athlone
- 1957–1959: The Rt Hon. The Earl of Halifax
- 1959–1967: The Rt Hon. The Earl Alexander of Tunis
- 1967–present: HRH The Duke of Kent
