Jacqui Irwin is an American politician currently serving in the California State Assembly. She is a Democrat representing the 44th district, encompassing parts of Ventura County. Prior to being elected to the state assembly, she was a three term Thousand Oaks city council member, and previous to that was on the Thousand Oaks Planning Commission.
In her first run for a partisan office, she defeated conservative Republican Rob McCoy.
Irwin graduated from the University of California, San Diego, where she was an Academic All American swimmer. She had worked as an engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, on the Trident Missile Project and at Teledyne Systems before raising her children, Matthew, Kathryn, and Luke.[1]
