K. A. Mammen was a social worker, a leader, a friend for his colleagues, one of the founder members of Kerala Congress (Political party in Kerala. Living in a village, he extended himself to transform the villages and the people around him.[1]

Early days

Mammen was born on July 27, 1922. His father was Abraham, Kizhakke veettil, Elanthoor, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala.

Contributions

For almost fifty years, he was one of the leaders of the children’s wing, Akhila Kerala Balajana Sakyam. He was in the fore front of their activities and in their camps

As a history teacher he went on to trace and record the history of his own people

Donated a part of his ancestral property to open a hospital at his home village.

Last days

Died on June 21, 2009.
