Looking for Mr. Goodbar is a 1975 novel by Judith Rossner.[1] Rossner based the novel on the events surrounding the brutal murder in 1973 of Roseann Quinn, a 28-year-old New York City schoolteacher.[2]
Reception
It became a bestseller, attracting interest because of its portrayal of the dangers of the new sexual freedoms that women were exploring.
The novel was adapted as a 1977 film of the same name starring Diane Keaton and other rising stars such as Richard Gere.[3]
