The song Mere Mehboob Tujhe became very much popular upon release. The song composed on raga Jhinjhoti, was later slightly adapted into Malayalam by M. S. Baburaj, to give two all-time classic songs, "Thamasamenthe Varuvaan" (from Bhargavi Nilayam) and "Pranasakhi Njan Verumoru" (from Pareeksha).[4] These songs were selected by Naushad as one of the few of his favourite songs when he visited Baburaj Music Academy in 1988.
