"Miss International Belgium Official is Beauty pageant team to select Belgian representative to the Miss International contest. This pageant is not related to Miss Belgium contest.

History

In 1960 Belgium was debuted at the Miss International contest by Miss Belgium contest. Along with Belgium representatives for Miss Universe and Miss World, Miss Belgium for Miss International also became the most prestigious title at the Miss Belgium contest. In 1987 Muriel Jane Georges Rens had been successful placed as the 1st Runner-up at the Miss International 1987 in Tokyo, Japan. Where Laurie Simpson of Puerto Rico won the title. In 1997-2007 Due to lose the franchise, no Belgian representatives at the pageant. In 2008 Miss Belgium Organization signed up to be National franchise holder of Miss International in Belgium but it run until 2011. Since 2011 Miss International Belgium Agency runs to select the winner of Miss International Belgium to compete at the Miss International pageant.

The current titleholder of 2014 is Gönül Meral of Brussels.[1]

Formats

Miss International Belgium recruitment formats in casting selection from across Belgium. The candidate is expected to serve as "Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty" for Belgium.
