Nancy Sue Kahalewai is a teacher, author and certified practitioner of Hawaiian massage or lomilomi.

Hawaiian Lomilomi: Big Island Massage (I M Publishing, 2000) was the first 'how to' book on lomilomi to be published. It was later revised and reprinted (2005, ISBN 0-9677253-2-1) and translated into German and Japanese editions. In 2010, she released the third edition as an eBook with color photos from her home in New Zealand.[1]

Kahalewai's videos feature instructional massage lessons and archival footage of Hawaiian elders who were her mentors, and is the publisher of Ho'opono by Pali Jae Lee (I M Publishing, 2007, ISBN 978-0-9677253-7-6), as well as many other titles about wellness and Hawaiian culture.

A Hawaii licensed massage therapist since 1977, Kahalewai founded two massage schools on the Big Island of Hawaii, co-directed the Kona Ironman Triathlon massage team (1982-1986) and the Volcano Marathon (1994-1999), before moving to Morere Hot Springs, New Zealand in 2008, where she taught the NZ Certificate of Massage and the Diploma of Therapeutic Massage. In 2013 she was inducted into the World Massage Festival Hall of Fame (USA).
