Potamarius is a genus of sea catfishes that occur in Central and South America. The members of this genus are almost exclusively inhabit fresh water though P. grandoculis can be found in brackish water.
Species
There are currently four described species in this genus:[1]
- Potamarius grandoculis (Steindachner, 1877)
- Potamarius izabalensis C. L. Hubbs & R. R. Miller, 1960
- Potamarius nelsoni (Evermann & Goldsborough, 1902) (Lacandon sea-catfish)
- Potamarius usumacintae Betancur-R. & Willink, 2007 (Usumacinta sea-catfish)
