Rana is a 1998 Telugu Action film produced by K. Meenakshi Naidu on Rudvega Productions banner and directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy. Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Heera Rajagopal, Bhagyasri in the lead roles and music composed by Koti.[1][2]

Plot

Bheema Raju (Jaya Prakash Reddy) a mafia don, kills his henchman Rajeswara Rao (Chalapathi Rao). Raana (Nandamuri Balakrishna) son of Rajeswara Rao kills Bheema Raju and becomes a mafia don himself. He becomes a very powerful man in the society and, later on, marries an innocent village girl Ganga (Heera Rajagopal). Bheem Raju's son Devaraj (Charan Raj) try to kill Raana in many ways, but nothing works out. Raana kills a Municipal Commissioner (Raghunath Reddy) for raping a girl. Dr. Kasthuri (Bhagyasri) who is a doctor and also an ally of the bad guys does the postmortem of the body and tells the police about the murder and tries to send Raana to jail. Raana kidnaps Kasthuri and threatens her and while he is killing her Shankaram Master (Chandra Mohan) obstructs his way begs him to leave his daughter, then suddenly Raana finds out that Kasthuri is none other than his long-lost sister. But he not able to express the truth, because he has given a promise to his adopted father Rajeswara Rao that he never till his wife Parvathi (Annapurna) that he is their adopted son. Devaraj uses the situation, develops more and more enmity between Kasthuri & Raana and desperately tries to kill Raana using Kasthuri. But she comes to know that Raana is her brother towards the end of the film.[3]
