Richland Township is one of twelve townships in Rush County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 337 and it contained 138 housing units.[3]

Richland Township most likely was so named on account of their fertile soil.[4]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 28.53 square miles (73.9 km2), of which 28.52 square miles (73.9 km2) (or 99.96%) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.026 km2) (or 0.04%) is water.[3]
