Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Rudolf Heynsen (22 August 1890 in Eutin – 26 May 1974 in Hamburg) was a German naval officer and commander of the 27. Minensuchflottille in World War II and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. He graduated from the Thomasschule zu Leipzig in 1911.[1]
