Sandlot Games is a developer and publisher of casual and family-friendly games based in Bothell, Washington, United States. It was founded in 2002 by Daniel Bernstein, a veteran of the casual gaming industry, whose experience spans from game development to content strategy at WildTangent, Monolith Productions, and Kesmai Studios.
To date, the Sandlot Games portfolio consists of popular franchises like Cake Mania, Westward, Kuros, Super Granny, and Tradewinds. Although most of its products are downloadable PC games, it offers other titles for Mac, iPhone, iPod, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP.
In November 2011, Sandlot Games was acquired by Digital Chocolate and is now a fully owned subsidiary.
In May 2012, Sandlot Games was part of the companies shut down by Digital Chocolate. As of now, the owner of the brand and trademarks of Sandlot Games and its' games are unclear.[1]
Distribution channels
Intenium, Germany's leading distributor of casual games, announced on January 7, 2009, that it entered into a distribution partnership with US-based Sandlot Games. A total of 12 titles from Sandlot Games launched to several European regions including France, Germany, Britain, and Benelux.
In mid June, 2009, Sandlot Games entered into a distribution partnership with Steam, Valve's digital distribution platform. Its games were part of Steam's foray into a family games category.
