Sir James Rushout, 1st Baronet
Sir James Rushout, 1st Baronet (22 March 1644 – 16 February 1698) was an English Member of Parliament and baronet.
Sir James was made a Baronet at the young age of 17 in 1661 (whether he was the youngest first creation of a baronet is unknown), and later served as Member of Parliament for Evesham and Worcestershire in the Parliament of England. He was nominated by the king to be ambassador at Constantinople in April 1697, but died before he could take up the appointment.
He had several children, by his wife Alice, daughter of Edmund Pitt, including:
- Sir James Rushout, 2nd Baronet
- Sir John Rushout, 4th Baronet
- Elizabeth, who married firstly Sir George Thorold, 1st Baronet, and secondly George Compton, 4th Earl of Northampton.
