Stanislav Alexeyevich Pozdnyakov (Russian: Станислав Алексеевич Поздняков) (born 27 September 1973 in Novosibirsk) is a Russian fencer, who has won five Olympic medals in the sabre competitions.[1][2] He also won the gold medal at the 2006 World Fencing Championships and the 2007 World Fencing Championships in the individual sabre as well as a bronze medal in the team sabre in 2006.

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.Pozdnyakov has won the World Fencing Championships a total of ten times; five times in the team event and five times in the individual event, more times then any other sabre fencer in history. He also has won five silver and two bronze medals from the World Championships. Pozdnyakov is also one of the most successful Olympic fencers of all time. At the 1992 Games in Barcelona, Spain, he was a member of the U.S.S.R. team that took Gold. In 1996, as team captain, he won a team gold and a gold in the individual event. His last gold Olympic medal was from the 2000 Games in the team event again. At the 2004 Games, he and the Russian Federation team beat the American team 45-44 to win the bronze medal. Four years later, at the 2008 Games, he and the Russian Federation team lost to America 45-44 in the semi-finals of the team event. He soon retired from competitive fencing and is currently an official of the FIE.
