Before the partition of India in 1947, Lahore was a cosmopolitan city with Hindu, Sikh and Jain residents. There were many temples in Lahore.
In 1941, 64.5% of the population of Lahore was Muslim and about 36% was Hindu or Sikh.[2]
Hindu temples
Only Krishna mandir and Valmiki mandir are two functional Hindu temples in Lahore.[3]
