Tineke Postma (Heerenveen, August 31, 1978) is a Dutch saxophonist.

Biography

At the age of eleven Postma began playing the saxophone. She studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory between 1996 and 2003 and obtained a Master's degree (cum laude) in Music. Postma has been teaching at Amsterdam Conservatory since 2005. She did a Masters at the Manhattan School of Music in New York in 2002. Postma was taught by David Liebman, Dick Oatts, and Chris Potter. She received two scholarships for this study.

Collaborations

Postma collaborated with Terri Lyne Carrington on the album The Mosaic Project in 2011.[1] She has performed with numerous international musicians (Greg Osby, Terri Lyne Carrington, Gerry Allen, Ivan Paduart, Esperanza Spalding, the Metropole orchestra,...) and has recorded 6 CDs so far.
