Toshiya Miura (三浦 俊也, born 16 July 1963) is a Japanese football manager who is currently the manager of the Vietnam national team.[1]
Managerial career
Vietnam
On 10 May 2014, the Vietnam Football Federation appointed Miura as the manager of Vietnam after agreeing to a two-year contract. His first official competition was the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014, in which he led the team to the semifinal when it was defeated by Malaysia.[2]
On 31 March 2015, Toshiya Miura became the first manager of Vietnam U-23 national team to qualify the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship as one of the best second-ranked teams in the qualification stage.[3] Despite this success, he has been criticized by local coaches for ruining the tiki-taka styles of Hoàng Anh Gia Lai and JMG Academy players.[4]
