The whole corporation is composed of 6 general companies including TCI Freight, TCI XPS, TCI Supply Chain Solution, TCI Global, TCI Seaways and TCI Foundation.[3]

History

Founded in 1958 by Shri Prabhu Dayal Agarwal, fondly known as [PD Ji][citation needed], at Kolkata, India. TCI started from one man, one office and one truck.

TCI Freight is a conventional transport company.which provides the basic transportation facility in all over India.

TCI XPS is an express cargo division of TCI group. This division provides cargo services through road, rail and air with some value added services. Later they have started in courier segment as well.

TCI Supply Chain Services this division of TCI group provides single window solutions[clarification needed] & services across industry and services. Key industries of TCI SCS are AUTO, HI TECH, telecommunication, retail & CP, Cold Chain and pharmaceuticals.

Key services of TCI SCS are- 1 In-bound Logistics 2 In-plant stores and Yard Management 3 Out-bound Logistics 4 Warehousing 5 Consultancy services

TCI SEAWAYS-This division of group TCI has ships in its fleet and caters to requirements for transporting container and bulk cargo from island & ports.

TCI Global- This division is very new for TCI, it provides complete logistics & supply chain solutions across boundaries.[clarification needed]

TCI Foundation- This division provides the social services, drivers welfare, and Aids awareness programme in all over India.
