"101.1 The Wiz" is a Rhythmic Contemporary radio station licensed to Erlanger, Kentucky serving the Cincinnati area. The station plays an Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Reggae and Gospel hip-hop music. The station is owned and operated by Radio One. It broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 2500 watts. Its studios are located at Centennial Plaza in Downtown Cincinnati and the transmitter site is west of the downtown area.
Prior to becoming WIZF in 1987, this frequency held the call letters WHKK and had a religious format.
On Friday July 14, 2006 WIZF changed frequencies from 100.9 FM to 101.1 FM, but kept "The Wiz" as their iconic station's nickname.
WIZF is the official syndicated home to The Rickey Smiley Morning Show since 2016.
Pat Garrett has been the voice of WIZF since the station's debut in 1987 all the way to 2015.
WIIZ The Wiz 97.9 in Augusta also goes by the name The Wiz and carries the Russ Parr Morning Show as well but is unrelated due to different ownerships The station was also home to Cincinnati native DJ Etrayn from 2012-2014.
