Walter A. Johnson (died July 23, 1958) was an American football and college basketball coach. He served in both capacities at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina.[1]
As the athletic director at Presbyterian, he is loosely credited with giving the school's sports teams their unique nickname, the Blue Hose.[2]
He passed away in 1958. The former football field at Presbyterian was named in his honor.[3]
