Wehebe Darge (born 4 December 1991) is an Australian ice hockey player playing for the Adelaide Adrenaline in the Australian Ice Hockey League.

Playing career

Darge first played ice hockey for the South Australian state team in the Brown (23 and under) and Tange (18 and under) grades in 2008 where he played four and five games respectively.[1] Following the end of the Australian ice hockey season Darge moved to Canada and signed with the Harrington College Icebergs of the America East Hockey League.[2] Following the end of the season Darge returned to Australia and again played for South Australia in the Tange grade, playing four games and recording eight points.[1] Darge also made his debut for the Adelaide Adrenaline in 2009, where he played nine games, scoring seven goals and recording three assists.[2] Following the end of his second season for the Adrenaline in 2010 Darge moved to the United States and signed with the Alaska Avalanche of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for the 2010–11 season. Darge continued to play for the Avalanche until the end of the 2011–12 season which he 35 points in 59 games.[2] Following the end of the NAHL season Darge re-signed with the Adelaide Adrenaline to compete in the 2012 AIHL season.[2]

Darge was first called up to represent Australia in 2009 where he joined the national under-18 team to compete in the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III Group A tournament being held in Taipei, Chinese Taipei.][3] Australia finished first, earning promotion to Division II for the following year while Darge was named the tournaments best forward, finished as the top scorer with 27 points and finished with the best plus-minus of the tournament with +24.[4][5][6] The following year Darge joined the national senior team to compete in the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament being held in Mexico City, Mexico. Australia finished second while Darge finished with six points in his five games.[7] At the end of 2010 Darge represented the national under-20 team in the 2011 IIHF World U20 Championship Division II Group B tournament being held in Miercurea-Ciuc, Romania. Australia finished in fifth place and Darge recorded five points in five games.[8]

Darge was born on 4 December 1991 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.[2]
