Yuriy Ivanovich Borisov (Russian: Юрий Иванович Борисов born December 31, 1956) is a Russian Deputy Minister of Defence and a recipient of Order for Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces of the USSR, 3d degree.[1]

Biography

Yuriy Borisov was born on December 31, 1956 in Vyshny Volochyok. He graduated from Suvorov Military School in 1974 and from Radioelectronics Higher Command School in 1978. In 1980s he also attended Moscow State University from which he graduated in 1985. For 20 years from 1978 to 1998 he was enlisted into the Armed Forces of both Soviet Union and Russia. He was Federal Agency on Industry deputy head in October 2007 and became Minister of Industry and Trade in July 2008. He was a Military-Industrial Commissioner for Russia in March 2011 and as of November 12, 2012 under Presidential Decree,[2] Borisov was promoted to Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation.[3]
