XG (Korean: 엑스지), is a Japanese based in South Korea. Their labels are (KR), (JP) and (International). The group consists of seven members: Jurin (ジュリン), who serves as the group leader, Chisa (チサ), Hinata (ヒナタ), Harvey (ハーヴィー), Juria (ジュリア), Maya (マヤ), and Cocona (ココナ). XG debuted on March 18, 2022, with the digital single "Tippy Toes", performed entirely in English.

The group’s name stands for Xtraordinary Girls and reflects the group's mission to inspire young people globally through innovative music and performance, emphasizing themes of empowerment and self-expression. Their fanbase, known as "Alphaz", is an international following strengthened by XG's focus on English-language music and global appeal. Although XG members are Japanese, they are promoted primarily in South Korea, blending influences from and into a distinctive sound.

XG's introduction to the public came on January 25, 2022, through their social media accounts with a short introductory video titled Xgalx – The Beginning, followed by content that showcased their various skills in rap, dance, and vocals. In June 2022, they released their second single, "Mascara", and later appeared on the South Korean music program M Countdown, marking their first televised performance. In November of the same year, their rap line —composed of members Jurin, Harvey, and Cocona — gained attention with the release of Galz Xypher, a rap cypher that went viral on TikTok and increased the group’s visibility.

In early 2023, XG released their third single, "Shooting Star", and an accompanying track titled "Left Right", marking a notable moment as the first Japanese girl group to enter Mediabase's US Radio Top 40 chart. Their popularity continued to rise, leading to the release of "Grl Gvng" in June 2023 as a prelude to their debut EP "New DNA", which was officially released in September. This EP, including singles like "TGIF" and "New Dance", topped the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

In 2024, XG announced their first world tour, covering Asia, North America, and Europe. Their expanding discography that year included singles such as "UNDEFEATED", in collaboration with Riot Games for Valorant, as well as "Woke Up", "SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT", and "IYKYK". These singles contributed to the anticipation surrounding their forthcoming mini-album AWE, set for release on November 8, 2024.
