We’re proud to announce that our Nacogdoches, Texas Airgas branch was selected as one of four national branches of the year! The team places an emphasis on safety, and has operated without an accident or injury for the last five years. The Nacogdoches branch has also developed long lasting relationships with the local school districts, which contributed to their success in 2023. These school vocational programs are developing the future workforce, particularly in the manufacturing and industrial sectors that make up a large portion of business in this region. Today, on International Day of Charity, Airgas reaffirms our commitment to giving back through our Citizen at Work program, with team members making notable impacts and uplifting those in need across the country. Associates from our South Region held three volunteer events on the same day in June at three Feeding America chapters: Northeast Florida, Tampa Bay and South Florida. Feeding America volunteers play a vital part in daily operations by helping the organization sort through donated food and ensuring that it is safe to go back out to the community. - Feeding Northeast Florida: 5 associates and family members sorted through donated food so the next group of volunteers could set up meal donation boxes. This team also labeled and set up hurricane boxes so they could be given out to the community. - Feeding Tampa Bay: 24 associates and 3 family members sorted 9,000 pounds of potatoes in bags. - Feeding South Florida: The 4 person team had a great time prepping and packing 14,000 pounds of meals for families throughout Dade & Broward County.
