Moby v2025.04.04
By Tracy Poff (2107) on April 04, 2025 · 0 comments
We've got a variety of fixes and improvements this week, including a big one for the new markdown editor.
API:
- Fixed error message when fuzzy search returns no results.
MobyPlus:
- Markdown Editor: Added a button to simplify adding moby links. You can now search for a game, person, company, or game group and click to insert a link.
- Markdown Editor: Tweaked the color of attribute strings in dark mode. Those are things like the number in
<moby gameid="7300">
.
Others:
- When replying to a forum post, the reply box will scroll into view.
- Fixed price history for recently added Steam games.
- Fixed notifications about items scraped by adding identifiers.
- Approvers: Fixed scraping content when you auto-approve an identifier. This was previously not working for non-Steam identifiers.
- Approvers: Now you can visit URLs like
https://www.mobygames.com/user/contribution-status/item/CreditSubmission/12345/
to access items. These are the URLs for the 'details' links you see on contribution status pages, so contributors sometimes provide them when asking for help.

We've got a variety of fixes and improvements, this week. We've made improvements to the API based on the feedback we've received. Please keep telling us what you'd like to see there.
The big news this week is a long-requested feature we're releasing in beta for MobyPlus users: a visual markdown editor. More features are coming soon, and it will be made available in more places over the next few weeks. Please let us know what you think!

There have been some very impolite bots visiting us lately, which has sometimes made the site slow or even inaccessible. This week, we implemented several changes to help keep the site running smoothly during these incidents. Additionally:
- Now Person pages label NSFW games.
- A couple of updates to improve the layout of the site on mobile. More to come!
- Performance enhancements to a wide variety of pages.
