Chornobyl Exclusion Zone has changed dramatically after the second massive explosion in year 2006. Violent mutants, deadly anomalies, warring factions have made the Zone a very tough place to survive. Nevertheless, artifacts of unbelievable value attracted many people called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, who entered the Zone for their own risk striving to make a fortune out of it or even to find the Truth concealed in the Heart of Chornobyl.
Take over a role of the lone stalker and explore photorealistic seamless open world in a 64-km² radioactive zone with a variety of environments that reveal post-apocalyptic atmosphere from different angles. Make your way through the Zone to define your destiny as you choose your paths within highly branching epic story.
Meet members of different factions deciding who of them worth your friendship and who deserve a bullet. Engage intense gunfights with a variety of enemies that follow different tactics trying to outsmart you. Choose your preferable firearms from 30+ types of weapons with numerous modifications that allow creating hundreds of distinctive lethal combinations.
Prepare to encounter horrifying mutated creatures that will try to slaughter you following different behaviour model. Each mutant may appear in different subtypes which makes their behaviour less predictible. Truly extreme danger represent regions with lairs with numerous mutants hunting in large groups.
The most valuable artifacts and secrets of the Zone are hidden in the most dangerous places. Beware of the hazardous anomalies and unique devastating arch-anomalies as you hunt for highly valuable artifacts scattered around the Zone. That’s totally wild. So was the whole development story.
Despite all the odds, it’s here. Our biggest game, our own story, our love letter to Ukraine. After more than 15 years, the doors to the Zone are opened once again.
This is a very important, very exciting, and very memorable day for all of us.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is meaningful in its own way for each fan. We hope that those who have been familiar with the universe for a long time will immediately feel at home and recognize that very same S.T.A.L.K.E.R. For all newcomers, we hope you'll immerse yourselves in the magical, alien, and all-powerful Zone, and, feeling its unique emotions, will stay with us for a long time.
This is a project of endless love and passion from the entire team. We genuinely believe that this is felt throughout — you’ll feel it in the handcrafted world, you’ll feel it in the laboratory and in the poppy fields, or during the first emission, or intense battle with a bloodsucker, or the stylish reload of your new gun, or first seeing Prypiat under the moonlight. There are so many things in the game that we are incredibly proud of.
Nevertheless, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a massive game. We understand that in such a game, there may still be rough edges: we literally haven't released anything of this scale before. We’re absolutely committed to being here, monitoring your feedback, and quickly fixing any issues that need our attention. In the first days after release, we’ll be working with hotfixes, rolling them out as precisely as possible, but as frequently as we can. Then, we’ll switch to larger updates that include constant improvements. There will also be free in-game content — we’ll share its roadmap later in December.
We have big plans for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe. In a way, today is both a return and the beginning of a grand new journey.

I will only play it when a Russian voice acting mod or patch will be released.
P.S. I'm not Russian, nor of Slav origin.
The Ukrainian voiceover is awful and English does not vibe with the themes.
The NPCs react too slowly, even if I play a veteran, it is too easy.
Still like to play Gamma or EFP I like the old graphic engine; I change the script values and make the game more difficult less ammunition and items and everything more expensive.

Regarding A-life... LOL, personally when I see the comments of folks who dont know how A-life worked in first place, complaining about A-life... (primarily speaking about Steam comments).
I think some folks misunderstand... you will always have spawning in game. Its not like whole seamless 60 sq km map will spawn all squads, that would crash everything down. Its about radius how far squads spawn, and everything outside of the radius is not spawned and runs as simplified "offline" simulation of AI.
So this radius is now far too short and need to be fixed.
Or I would say whats even more probable... "offline" part of A-life and "online" part of it simply arent implemented seamlessly, like they should, and this creates illogical and abrupts encounters.
So, there is more here to fix, probably, than just radius. If it was radius Im fairly sure they would unroll fix within the first patch in the next week.
I hope it comes as with Anomaly Mod.

Anomaly is kinda overrated.
This is meant to be a Stalker game, it won't follow in the footsteps of some milsim tactical modpack.
I noticed that the NPCs can still see you in dark corners, which is actually unrealistic, and Skif is never thirsty I never have to drink anything.
Stalker was never and will never be realistic.
