CryServ is a GameSpy replacement network for Crysis Wars that was created in 2014, featuring the latest, improved version of Crysis Wars multiplayer. It comes with hundreds of fixes and improvements, as well as new features that are organically built into the core gameplay.
Crysis Wars is the standalone multiplayer game bundled with Crysis Warhead. Building upon the original Crysis' multiplayer game, it has been expanded and improved with a new gamemode as well as many new maps. It does include all of the multiplayer maps and game modes that Crysis has... and more.
The game was impacted by the 2014 GameSpy shutdown; however, CryServ took the initiative and continues to provide updates and maintain an active community to this day.
Over the years, CryServ has fixed many of the original bugs, added numerous improvements and optional features, and introduced additional weapons and items that integrate seamlessly into the core gameplay. Key features of the network include:
- Improved anti-cheat system
- Custom client-side mod with hundreds of bug fixes, improvements and new features
- Custom server-side mods (BASE and nTEC) to host your own servers
- Cross-server player stats system
- Custom server banners
- Server list accessible via CryServ website
- Discord integration
- Regular updates
- Downloads for new multiplayer maps and more
CryServ supports the GOG and DVD versions of Crysis Wars. It can also be used with the free Crysis Wars Trial version available for download right from ModDB.
Getting started is easy:
- Download and install the Crysis Wars Trial if you don't own the game already. Be sure to also install Patch 1.5.
- Download and install the CryServ Client from CryServ website
- Launch the game through one the CryServ shortcuts and join a server!
The Steam version is also supported with slightly different steps - ask about this on the Discord if interested.

Last Sunday, November 26, 2024, the CryServ community came together for another thrilling multiplayer party in Crysis Wars. The session showcased some of the best moments this legendary game has to offer, thanks to the extensive improvements made possible by the CryServ platform. This event was a great demonstration of our active player base and the potential of CryServ Network.
Maps That Set the Stage
We played on a variety of maps that day, with the following standing out for their intensity and unique gameplay.
Dust
A remake of the Counter-Strike map by DJ Copniker, offering intense battles in a familiar setting.
Bloodrun
A reimagining of a classic Quake map by DJ Copniker, delivering fast-paced, reflex-heavy arena gameplay.
Coast
A classic Crysis Wars map, known for its tactical depth and nostalgic appeal.
Poolstay
A Counter-Strike map remake by DJ Copniker, exclusive to CryServ, providing dynamic and unpredictable matches.

CryServ Updates: Highlights
Since our last update in April 2024, CryServ has introduced major improvements to enhance gameplay and customization:
- Advanced Settings: New input modes and adjustable camera FOV.
- Update System: Seamless in-game updates.
- Player Communication: Mute specific players and improved radio chat for Team Action mode.
- 3rd Person Fixes: Enhanced camera controls, better tripod weapon gameplay, and other improvements.
- Suit Shortcuts: Even faster suit mode selection in battles.

now all we need is bots for offline use!
Bots will never replace real people. It's important to gather your own group, organize events, and build a community around this old game. It is dying, and it's up to us players to bring it back to life.
I have steam version and it is not supported :'-C

You can even install it on Steam Deck and have the full controller support.
Wish this game supported bots. There is never anyone playing when I want to play (UK Time, between 8-11pm). Shame
I wish we could have bots too, but it is currently technically impossible.
People usually gather between 4 PM and 6 PM (converted to London time), but occasionally you can find some players later in the evening. More people join on the weekend and the surrounding days. I recommend joining our Discord community to connect with the rest of our players.
