Saving Silverman (2001)

Someone needs to save Saving Silverman (2001) since the critically-dissed flick barely broke even at the box office. Also known as Evil Woman, this unromantic comedy centers around Darren Silverman (Jason Biggs), J.D. McNugent (Jack Black), and Wayne Leferssier (Steve Zahn). In addition to sharing an appreciation for Neil Diamond music, the guys have been best buds ever since grade school. But all of that may change when Darren meets a sexy yet strict psychologist named Judith Fessbeggler (Amanda Peet). The two begin to date but she refuses to have intercourse unless they’re married. Eventually, Darren (and his strained jaw) give in. But J.D. and Wayne think the union is unwise so they try to break the betrothed up. As such, the bros engage in anti-marriage mayhem as they devise a kidnapping plot. Along the way, we encounter Coach Norton (R. Lee Ermey), Belston (Jared Van Snellenberg), and Darren’s old flame (Amanda Detmer) who is an aspiring nun! The movie also includes Dennis Dugan, Kyle Gass, and Mr. Zahn’s skin! Fast-forward to the 01:04:29 mark to see Steve doing yoga in the buff. The revealing scene showcases the actor’s naked T&A as well as his flexibility. In other words, his downward dog may give you a bone! Ironically, this anti-wedding comedy opened the same weekend as the pro-marriage romp The Wedding Planner (2001) with Jennifer Lopez in the titular role and Matthew McConaughey as the groom-to-be. Of course, when it comes to selecting a best man, we’ll go with the butt-baring Zahn!
