The holiday season is upon us and soon, cities and towns will transform with dazzling lights, glittering decor and festive vibes. If you're looking for a magical place to enjoy some Christmas cheer, you'll want to take a trip to this charming small town near Toronto.

Oakville is a dreamy holiday wonderland perched along the shores of Lake Ontario. According to a press release, you can enjoy "twinkling lights and tree lighting ceremonies to boutique shopping, delicious dining, and exciting holiday events."

Located under an hour from Toronto, the town has a plethora of attractions to enjoy that will have you feeling like Cindy-Lou Who.

Some highlights include Light up the Night which kicks off Downtown Oakville’s Hometown Holiday event, the Santa Claus Parade, Holiday Lights by the Lake and the Kerr Village Christmas Tree Lighting & Holiday Market.

"Oakville truly shines during the holidays," Rebecca Edgar, Executive Director of Visit Oakville said in a press release.

"From our festive events to our welcoming atmosphere, there’s something special about celebrating the season here. Whether you’re enjoying our stunning waterfront, shopping at our local boutiques in our charming downtown area, or dining at one of our exceptional restaurants, we welcome visitors to come and experience the joy of the holidays in Oakville.”

Other festive activities in Oakville include holiday markets, visits with Santa and live carollers.

Oakville is also a hotspot for Taylor Swift-themed fun. The town is hosting a range of events ahead of the Toronto Eras Tour and you can find everything from themed-baked goods to paint nights and more.
