Diversity Report
Newsweek works to build a workforce from a wide range of backgrounds in its editorial team. It actively seeks journalists from backgrounds that have traditionally been less represented in the media. It also has a selection process that is designed to remove barriers to talented people from any background.
To demonstrate Newsweek's commitment to diversity, it publishes data on the composition of the editorial department, giving breakdowns by gender and by race for staffing in its home location of the United States and globally. The latest data are for October 2022.
Newsweek is working to update its published data to reflect its work to strengthen its diversity across its newsroom, not only on race and gender, but also on sexual orientation, disability and other factors which are relevant to inclusive news reporting. It plans to publish diversity data annually.
