Today we're making a batch of black salsa, also known as salsa negra. This bold, smokey salsa is made with loads of fire-roasted vegetables and cilantro.

My version of Salsa Macha includes guajillo, serrano, garlic, and olive oil. My love of the coast, it's fisherman, and seafoods inspired me to make it. With a few easy steps this chile oil will be ready to spoon onto your favorite foods like tacos, portabello mushrooms, drizzled on avocado toast, soups, and much more. Baja Fresh was a chain taco restaurant that had THE BEST salsa bar. Their signature salsa was so good, I used to buy it in 16 ounce containers. They went out of business so my husband paid .79 cents for a copycat recipe, which he morphed into this one. I've been making it for over ten years and it's always a hit. I won't be offended if you add onions.
