Zion Ko Lamm on Instagram: "Glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), has countless applications for the skin due to its exfoliating properties: exfoliating dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover. Exfoliation is an art; there is no exact manual for everyone because everyone’s skin will react differently. When done beautifully, the results are glorious. When overdone, your skin can look worse than when it started. A tip is to start with lower concentrations (5-10%) to avoid irritation, especially on sensitive areas, and begin slowly (1-2x/week), gradually increasing frequency as your skin builds tolerance. Glycolic acid can increase sun sensitivity, so always use sunscreen on treated skin and follow with a good moisturizer afterward. Drop your questions 👇🏽
