Duh! With its eyes closed, of course! Take a look at these cute photos of baby giraffes sleeping, using their own bodies as pillows for their heads, courtesy of their loooong necks (except the last one, whose head I think plopped to the ground in the sleep). Next question: Do they wake up with a giant crick in their necks? (Images: Imgur - via Lost at E Minor)...

Here are a few interesting facts about the giraffes' sleeping/resting habits: 1. Giraffes don't need much sleep -- only about 30 minutes a day for an adult. 2. They split their sleep into naps of approximately 5 minutes at a time and they usually can't reach deep sleep. 3. Sometimes the young ones will turn their neck and rest their head on their back as if it's a pillow, while adults can -- sleep standing up. 4. When sitting down, they do so by folding their legs underneath their bodies. The Young Ones, Deep Sleep, Giraffes, Interesting Facts, Facts About, 30 Minutes, Fun Facts, Split, Sleep

Last fall we showed you how an emu sits. Today we answer the question of where a giraffe puts its head when it sleeps. In all of the internets I could only find three images of sleeping giraffes, and you have now seen them all. This makes you an expert - very useful if/when you take small children to a zoo...
