This update is fast (like 1-2 hours), cheap (free even if you have leftover paint), and crazy transformative! Below I’ll share with you the process I used to whitewash this brick fireplace. The durability and quality of brick is longstanding so we knew we wanted to keep it, but it needed a major refresh! LIMEWASH enters the chat 💬 I wanted this project to look more rustic and less one solid color of paint. I also wanted it to feel warmer so I chose 3 different tones of limewash to add dimension and visual interest. I started by taping everything off so the walls and mantel would be protected. Mixed up 3 colors of limewash. A base & 2 highlighter colors I sprayed a section of the red brick with water to make it slightly wet, not saturated.
