This savoury French toast recipe has a funny story behind it. One morning, I accidentally poured chilli instead of cinnamon into the French toast creamy egg mixture - but embraced it and kept going with a savoury vibe.

The fresh Parmesan in the egg mixture helps create a wonderful crust, which contrasts so well with the soft crumb. The perfect base to your favourite topping! I went for burrata and prosciutto, but you can also go for feta, crispy bacon or simply grate more fresh Parmesan on top!

👩🏽‍🍳To make 4x slices, you will need:

2 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon chilli
