Rise of the dragon

This is the first published piece of the ones I created for the artbook of The Rise of the Dragon: an illustrated history of house Targaryen, by George RR Martin, Elio M. García and Linda Antonsson. The history of Westeros is soooo deep and rich, and this scene in particular is based on a very cool event I encourage you to research on your own.

This is one of the 6 illustrations that I have done for the book "The rise of the dragon" has been one of the commissions that has produced me more enthusiasm, as I remember seeing with great admiration the first illustrated book "The world of Ice and fire".
