Jessica Jean 🌿🪩 on Instagram: "a classroom procedure that gets used HEAVILY in my room: the waiting room! as you can tell by the wear & tear! it’s also been moved several times already because it creates a high-traffic area when being used. something to note: a huge expectation for using the waiting room is to continue working after grabbing a clothespin. most students just want to sit around while they’re waiting for you & that’s a big NO! so, we’ve been using these past couple of weeks practicing what we can do while we wait. we’ve even added table checklists as a reminder (to be posted👀). all of these teachable moments have made the waiting room that much more effective & WE ARE LOVING IT! 👏🏻💞 you can grab this exact waiting room template (or in other color schemes) from my Waiting Room For Classroom, Waiting Room Classroom, Room Template, The Waiting Room, Classroom Procedures, Teachable Moments, Teacher Tips, In My Room, We Are Love

Alyssa Diaz, 5th Grade Teacher on Instagram: "My best teacher hack for independent working time! A WAITING ROOM!

What it is:

•a clear plastic stand from Dollar Tree, a cute waiting room printable, and numbered clips

•a solution to helping students in the order they ask for it while promoting their productivity while they wait! (Because they don’t have to hold up their arm or wait in a line)

•a fun strategy that encourages students to seek help

How it Works:

•when students have a question/need help with something, they take the next available clip from the waiting room and go back to their seats to work on something else and wait for their number to be called

•I can help students in a fair order by calling the next number. I can call them up to my desk or I can go to their desk Teacher Waiting Room, Cute Waiting Room, Alyssa Diaz, Middle Childhood, Classroom Goals, The Waiting Room, My Desk, Future Classroom, Child Care
