Anchored in memories

In memory's embrace, we gather near,
To honor a life, so cherished, so dear.

A sailor once bold, on oceans so wide,
In the Merchant Navy, he took his pride.

Through tempest and calm, with courage he sailed,
In vessels of dreams, where many had failed.

His heart was a compass, his spirit the breeze,
Navigating the waves, with incredible ease.

Yet beyond the horizon, where the sea gods convene,
A melody lingered so calm and serene

Music his refuge, a balm for his soul,
Notes like the stars, made his spirit whole.

With each gentle note, he found his way home,
In melodic echoes, he never would roam.

For the ship of his life bore a sweet melody,
In each joyous refrain, we find memories free.

Now silence surrounds, yet his song lingers on,
A tapestry woven, from dusk until dawn.

We celebrate you, dear Grandad, with grace,
Your legacy sails on, time cannot erase.

So let us remember the joy that you've shared,
Through laughter and music, you showed that you cared.

As we bid you farewell, on this journey anew,
We carry your spirit, eternally true.
