Every Product Ciara Miller Used to Get Ready For the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
When the time came to choose a look for the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Ciara Miller turned to gladiators for inspiration. Ancient Roman warriors may seem disconnected from a lingerie spectacle, but there's actually more synergy than one would think. "It's a strong look," the model and star of Bravo's "Summer House" tells PS. "I was in love with the way [designer J. Phoenix London] contours her corsets to mimic the real shape of a woman's body. So, I felt like it was very appropriate for this event."
Women's empowerment was touted as a pervasive theme throughout the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which featured the brand's first all-women musical talent line up with names like Cher and Tyla. This year's event also marks a return from a six-year hiatus, after controversy surrounding the company's narrow standard of beauty and toxic workplace culture, followed by a progressive rebrand.
Miller is optimistic about Victoria's Secret's new direction. "Now, we are more inclusive of different body shapes, sizes, and types," she says. The 2024 cast notably featured plus size models like Ashley Graham and Paloma Elsesser, and transgender models Alex Consani and Valentina Sampaio. It's a step in the right direction but there's still progress to be made in terms of tokenism and extended sizes being available to shop online and in store. "I feel like it's definitely a brand that's come a long way," Miller says. "It's a great brand to grow with."
I watched Maria Borges, who was the first VS model who wore her natural hair on the runway. I looked up to these women, I wanted to be them.
Watching the Victoria's Secret shows growing up, one particular model stood out to Miller: Maria Borges, "who was the first VS model who wore her natural hair on the runway," she says. "I looked up to these women, I wanted to be them." So, it's almost poetic that Miller decided to wear her natural hair on the red carpet at the 2024 event. "Honestly, what a great carpet to do this on," she says. "I feel like we're embracing women's beauty here in all shapes, sizes, and everything, and this feels like the perfect opportunity to showcase that. My glam is going to be very 90s Whitney Houston, but with short hair."
When it comes to fashion, Miller likes to embrace the unexpected. "Sometimes when I'm dressing up for things and trying to find looks, being redundant is safe," she says. "I want to keep people guessing: what I'm going to wear, how I'm going to look, how I'm going to style my hair. It's really a fun way for me to be creative."
She takes the same approach with her career, which spans from the aforementioned modeling jobs to a new press-on nail collection with Quickies. "We are over getting our nails done in 2025," she says. Fans can also look forward to Miller's appearances in "Traitors" Season 3 and "Summer House" Season 9, both airing in 2025.
In the meantime, Miller walked PS through all the products she used to get ready for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, from a hydrating serum to a comfy pajama set.
Body Lotion
Nivea Essentially Enriched Body Lotion ($7)
Before getting her makeup done by Kasey Spickard, Miller lathered on Nivea's deep nourishing serum with almond oil. She credits it for her oft-complimented glowing skin. "If you see me glowing on the pink carpet, it's Nivea," she says. "I use this everyday. I always get asked 'How are you so shiny and glowing?' It's because of Nivea. For any red carpets or important events, you need to have this Nivea lotion in your bag. It's going to give you all the hydration. Your skin is going to look so healthy and smooth. This is not an ad!"
Hydrating Hair Products
Tresemme Rich Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner ($10, originally $11)
"I had to take out my extensions [the morning of the show] so Tresemme Shampoo and Conditioner was an essential for me," says Miller, whose hair was styled by Sade Williams. The Rich Moisture line is formulated with Vitamin E and biotin to lock in and retain hydration.
Comfy Pajamas
Victoria's Secret Glazed Satin Long Pajama Set ($80)
Miller reaches for her satin pajama set when it's time for bed. "I am a person who hates sleeping in pajamas and their silk pajamas feel like nothing when you put them on," she says. "They are so soft against your skin, you don't get irritated and want to take it off in the middle of the night."
A Silk Pillowcase
Lunya Silk Pillowcase ($88)
"Guys, if you are not sleeping with a silk pillowcase in the year 2024, you're not doing right," says Miller, sharing that even her cat Jasper loves it. "It's great for your face, great for your hair, less wrinkles, what could be bad?" The silk pillowcase is machine washable and thermoregulating, meaning it keeps the temperature cool and comfortable as you rest.
