Critics Consensus

Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel make a charming couple with plenty of chemistry, but that isn't enough to make up for Life as We Know It's formulaic plot and poorly written script.

Katherine Don Bitch Media Where Baby Boom gave hope, Life as We Know It brings despair. Jan 9, 2021 Full Review Anna Smith metro.co.uk But given that the supporting characters aren't bad, what could have been another awful romcom turns into something half decent. Rated: 3/5 Aug 24, 2018 Full Review Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) Despite the film's initial overloading of suburban stereotypes, the easy gags about promiscuity, baby vomit and nappy changing gradually give way to a pretty decent, if strictly formulaic, yarn about commitment and unexpected life changes. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 21, 2010 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) The film is so pleasant, in the end the director and stories capability surprise, as it flirts with something truly serious. Audience Member This was a great movie! I just found out about it a couple weeks ago. Never heard of it until then. I loved how it wasn’t the same type of story. It was original and both the leads had great chemistry! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/25/24 Full Review Stephanie It. 👏 Should.👏 Have.👏 been.👏 Sam. 👏 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/24 Full Review mary e best movie ever love it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Michael T I can't believe I watched the whole thing. Not my kind of movie. Pretty far-fetched, but not in a good way. The two leads were likeable, but that's about all this movie had going for it. The set-up was painfully long and the ending was paint by the numbers rom-com. The only reason I watched it is because I like Katherine Heigl. Overall pretty cringe worthy.
