This rare independently produced silent Western featured an all-black cast in a story about an African-American newspaper reporter (Calvin Nicholson) convicted and sent to prison for a murder he didn't commit. Escaping from the hoosegow, the reporter flees west and assumes the identity of a cow hand. On the job, the prison escapee manages to single-handedly catch a gang of outlaws and is pronounced a hero. Having fallen in love with a pretty cowgirl, Nicholson decides to give himself up to the mercy of the law. As it turns out, the real killer has confessed and Nicholson is free to marry his girl. Geared toward all-black theaters in the South, this minor Western was produced by Lawrence Goldman for Monarch Productions, a white-owned company catering the African-American audiences.
