Wenlei Ma News.com.au The Peanut Butter Falcon is a sweet, tender and joyful portrayal of an unlikely friendship, and it won't fail to charm. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 28, 2020 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian What follows could be a bit corny. Indeed it is a bit corny, and that is part of its charm. Life is a bit corny too. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 1, 2020 Full Review Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) As calculated as the film might be, it's hard to dislike. And while Nilson and Schwartz use Gottsagen's sincerity as a guarantee of their own good intentions, this never feels as exploitative as it might have. Rated: 3/5 Jan 29, 2020 Full Review Max Greene InSession Film Zack Gottsagen is warm and hilarious as Zak. His personality dominates the screen. Likewise, LeBeouf feeds into Gottsagen’s charm and plays Tyler as understated and confident. Rated: A- Aug 1, 2024 Full Review Ryan McQuade InSession Film The cast are on their A game, with what could be my favorite performance from Shia LaBeouf and Dakota Johnson. But the reason to see this film is for Zach Gottsagen’s lead performance. Apr 4, 2024 Full Review Paul Kanieski KSQD Community Radio Shia LaBeouf shines as the angst-ridden antihero. He fully inhabits the character of Tyler, handling crab nets like a pro – the byproduct of crabbing for an entire month prior to filming. Jul 19, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member An extremely important film with respect to representation for people with disabilities. Zack gets to be a full human with a wealth and depth of life experience just like any one of us without a disability. He is not reduced to a trope, nor is his disability ignored. In fact, this film has a very important question to ask of all caregivers, family members, and friends of people with disabilities: "What if your care is doing more harm than good? What if your helping is actually hurting and stifling?" The film does an excellent job wrestling with this question. Beyond that, the performances from the entire ensemble deserve major kudos (especially Zack Gottsagen and Shia LaBeouf)! For a first-time indie film, the team did an incredible job. I especially loved the score and cinematography. Everything was so grounded, so real. I felt I was in actual familiar places. My main qualms is that the film ends quite abruptly and I felt could have said more of what it was trying to say. Perhaps budgetary constraints? Regardless, I would definitely recommend this! A great under the radar flick from this year. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Donna B Such a sweet story and great acting Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/05/19 Full Review Nora P Predictable but a nice story Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/03/19 Full Review Denise Completely loved the movie!! Very meaningful and emotional Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/02/19 Full Review Martha H Great story. Made me laugh and cry. I loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/01/19 Full Review Gail G Nice sweet movie about an autistic boy living his life outside the nursing home he'd been put in. Zack Gottsagen( the boy) and Shia LaBeouf were great. Funny but at the same time it makes you think about how we treat people with special needs.
