Pickens Academy Cheerleader Coordinator, Rosamond Barnes, is pleased
to announce that Elisabeth Hankins was selected as a Varsity UCA/AISA
All Star and Marianna Pratt was selected AISA All Star this summer at
camp.
Elisabeth is the daughter of Kenny and Celeste Hankins of Aliceville. She
is the granddaughter of Sara Peebles and the late Will Peebles and James
and Irene Hankins all of Aliceville. Mariana is the daughter of Jack and
Megan Pratt of Carrollton. She is the granddaughter of R.L. and Sandra

Sheriff David Abston reports that the following individ-
uals were arrested and booked into the Pickens County
Jail for the week of Aug. 12, 2012 through August 18,
2012 .
Deborah Abrams (Fulmer) of Tuscaloosa was arrested by
the Pickens County Sheriff`s Department for
Negotiating Worthless Instruments. Abrams was
released from jail on bond.
Patrick Billups of Carrollton was arrested by the
Aliceville Police Department for Possession of
Marijuana 2nd and Public Intoxication. Billups remains
in jail.
Corey Byars of Gordo was arrested by the Pickens
County Sheriff`s Department for Illegal Manufacturing
of Methamphetamine, Burglary 3rd, Domestic Violence
3rd, Criminal Mischief 3rd and Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia. Byars remains in jail.
Antonio Cotton of Fayette was arrested by Pickens
County Sheriff`s Department for Probation Violation.
Cotton remains in jail.
Catrina Curry of Reform was arrested by the Pickens
County Sheriff`s Department for Probation Violation.
Curry remains in jail.
Allen Farley of Gordo was arrested by the Gordo Police
Department for Burglary 3rd and Theft of Property 2nd.
Farley remains in jail.
Lawrence Franks of Columbus, Mississippi was arrested
by the Pickens County Sheriff`s Department for
Unlawful Imprisonment 1st, Assault 2nd on a Peace
Officer, Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication. Franks
was released from jail on bond.
Sarah Harris (Williams) of Tuscaloosa was arrested by
the Pickens County Sheriff`s Department for
Negotiating Worthless Instruments. Harris was released
from jail on bond.
Tommie Jones of Macon , Mississippi was arrested by
the Pickens County Sheriff`s Department for Illegal
Possession of Controlled Substance. Jones was released
from jail on bond.
Walter King of Ethelsville was arrested by the Reform
Police Department for Possession of Marijuana 2nd,
Driving Under the Influence and Illegal Possession of
Alcohol. King was released from jail on bond.
Mekal Williams of Aliceville was arrested by the
Aliceville Police Department for Assault 2nd,
Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication. Williams
was released from jail on bond.
