Introduction
This week I will be taking you through the wonderful, exciting and bright country of Uruguay. While you are here you will be learning about Uruguay's Culture, history and way of life. In this presentation you will be going on a 6 day vacation to Uruguay. Each day there will be a schedule so that you will be able to fit in all of the fun things that you can do in Uruguay HAVE FUN!!!
Day #1
Today you will be learning about Uruguays history. You will be visiting Novo Colonia do Sacramento, a colonial settlement established in 1680 by the Portuguese. This is the oldest settlement in the country. While you are here you will learn about how people lived in this time period and you will learn about daily life.

Day #3
Today you will be learning about the food in Uruguay. In this country meat is featured in most dishes. Asado is the most famous traditional dish, it is barbequed beef. Local dishes include puchero, pizza, barbequed pork, grilled chicken, stew, and morcilla salada. Popular desserts include dulce de leche, which are Milk sweets chaja, which is a type of sponge cake and mossini which is a cream sponge. While you are here you will be able to taste the unique food choices Uruguay has to offer.
Day #4
Today you will learn about the culture of Uruguay.
Things They Do: When Men greet each other they either hug or pat each other on the back. When visiting people, it isnt considered rude to visit without calling first There is no school bus system in Uruguay, every student must walk to school
Polo, Soccer and marbles are popular games played here. Also it is common for young boys to have sling shots
A very important event in Uruguay is Independence Day. People here take this holiday seriously
Day #5 Part#1
Today you will be going to Rambla de Montevideo. This is a very nice and very fun boardwalk in Uruguay. Here you can go Boating, join a soccer game, play on the beach, or you could just walk around the Boardwalk
Day #5 Part #2
Next you will visit Punta del Este, one of the world best beaches. This is a beautiful, calm and public beach. You can swim, play soccer or lye out in the sun. Also, this is where the famous big hand statue sticks out of the ground. This statue was made in 1982 by a Chilean artist named Mario Irrazaba.
